Hello, my name is Amy, and i am a Pinterest Addict.
Oh, you are too? I’m so glad i’m not the only one.
If you have no idea what Pinterest is…you’ve been living under a rock for the last few months. It seems that Pinterest has become a common household name or phrase lately; “Oh, is that off of Pinterest?”, “Does it taste good? Its my first Pinterest recipe”, or my absolute favorite “Did you see that joke on Pinterest? Yes the Ryan Gosling ‘Hey Girl’ one” …you know what i’m talking about.
Rest assured you are not alone ladies, you are not alone.

. . .
If someone who didn’t know me were to look at my boards they would think i was a pretty stylish, organized, comfortable, amazing cook. I am none of those things…well maybe a little of all of them, a girl can dream. I can thankfully say that i HAVE attempted and succeeded a few of my pins. However there are so many wonderful, unique, and inspiring ideas that i mostly get overloaded and overwhelmed and have a pinning crash. You didn’t know there was such a thing did you? Stick with me kid, you’ll go far.
So, this pinning crash, it consists of staring wide eyed at my computer screen as my mouse scrolls endlessly over all of the pretty pretty pictures [picture me holding tobi (my cat) squeezing him sporadically and mumbling “pretty, pretty picturessssss”]. This happens, i’m sure Maria has witnessed it and wanted to slap me, heck i want to slap myself out of it.
Once i’m able to pull myself out of the pinning crash i go through a few stages: Denial & Isolation, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and finally Acceptance. Yes, you read that correctly, i go through the 5 stages of grief. I’m stricken with the fact that my life is not as perfectly put together as Pinterest makes it seem, why does painting a drop cloth to make a pretty curtain not happen in 15 minutes and instead takes 4 hours? I’ll tell you why, you’re not as awesome as Pinterest made you believe…but you know what, you’re still awesome. Or are you?
See, even though Pinterest is amazing, it makes you question your own level of awesomeness.
Not cool Pinterest, not cool. I still love you though.
. . .
So with all of that rambling out of the way i’m here to make a promise.
I WILL commit to make SOMETHING new off of one of my many pinterest boards. That is one of the many things this blog is going to be about: me putting ideas into real life movement.
So here are some of the projects i’ve been eyeballing like they were made of guilty chocolate.

This gorgeous crate that looks simple enough…i will probably cut a finger in the process.
Found here.

This awesome lady took a canvas and covered it with Burlap…i’m thinking you could cover a cork board and get the same result. Found here.

Breakfast Cookie…no sugar, flour, or dairy…need i say more? pinned here.
. . .
So those are just a few of the things i’d like to accomplish.

What about you??
Are you on Pinterest? Why or why not? Are you addicted? Have you experienced Pinning Crash? Whats the latest pin you’ve put into fruition?
Spill it all…
xo, Amy
