Why yes…i made some progress on the kitchen this weekend. That progress happened after the mild food poisoning wore off and i was able to function without feeling nauseous. I can tell you one thing, if its in the Lord’s will for me to have children, i am definitely NOT looking forward to morning sickness…yuck!
Ahem, i digress…
I sent out this little spoiler last night on FB & my Google+
After i uploaded it i realized that the words “top wall kitchen” had already been written on the paint can…aka people know what the spoiler was about and so in fact it wasn’t a spoiler…lame sauce.
So as you can probably guess…i FINALLY painted the top wall in my kitchen (nook) area.
Lets take a look at how it was before…way before with all of the wall paper, etc.
I also painted the stars you see hanging this weekend but i haven’t had a chance to re-hang them. Just as a side note, how they were hung in the pictures is definitely NOT how i will re-hang them. There were actually old wicker baskets (eh, i know) with fake flowers chilling up there so when i took those down i just hung the stars on the empty nails.
Plus i need to purchase a few more to get the look i’m going for.
Now…let’s look at the progress!!
Trimming out that wall was intense. ESPECIALLY on that ladder.
Ok, now onto the finished product, excuse the blurriness of some of the photos (remember i have jittery hands) i was just so excited i couldn’t keep still.
This was right after i had painted the second coat, so obviously it isn’t fully dry. This is the best picture to show the difference between the night light and the morning light.
My kitchen is a mess, but this is real life and i’m not always on top of everything. 🙂
Do i like it?!
It’s growing on me…i don’t hate it, and i dont not love it. Does that make sense?!
Sometimes things have to take a few days to really settle in and allow me the moment to appreciate it for the BOLDNESS that it brings to the room! I do like being bold.
I can’t wait to hang up the stars and the moon and see how it will bring it all together. I think its going to add a great touch to the wall.
. . .
Here is the paint i used:
Olympic’s cheapest satin paint (yes, i’m cheap and for a wall that will not get touched, or get looked at all of the time i decided the cheap paint was the way to go) color matched to Benjamin Moore’s Calypso Blue.
I will definitely post some pictures once i get around to hanging the stars and moon and a few other finishing touches!
So stay tuned.
. . .
This weekend i also started (and almost finished) a painting i’m working on for my Uncle. Its a painting based off of Bob Marley’s ‘Three Little Birds’ song.
I”m excited to see how it will turn out.
You’ll have pictures of that soon as well!
. . .
Do you love the paint color? Hate it? (be nice!) Have you color-matched paint before? Do you make bold paint choices in your home?
