Man….when it rains it pours.
Things around the home front just keep popping up and it’s making my head hurt a little bit.
So the roof has been fixed (post on that coming up soon) and praise the Lord because it has been and will continue to rain for the next few days like a beast, but we desperately need the rain so i’m ok with that (now that the roof is fixed).
Now…it’s the showers in the bathrooms [and the floors in the kitchen].
My mom had the bathrooms redone about a year (maybe two) before she passed.
They are awesome.
The showers have high walls that look like marble (i’m not sure if they are or not) and they are very pretty! I’ve noticed that the walls have started to separate (become unglued) from the walls…not super pressing at first right? Wrong. They’ve started to get worse and worse lately and i’ve made my roommate and brother start taking showers in my bathroom (because the walls are higher) and now after closer inspection it’s happening in my walls as well.
. . .
Here, let me show you what i’m talking about:
Did anyone else start crying with me.
This is something i know NOTHING about, and will not even attempt to DIY.
#1 If the (we will call it marble) walls broke in my attempt to take them off the walls to scrape and unglue them i would probably become unglued (ha, pun) at the realization of how much it would cost to replace
#2 The reality that #1 could happen is a pretty strong possibility.
. . .
So, the guys that actually completed the roof will be coming by TODAY to start on these. They are going to have to pry them off the walls, scrap off all of the old glue, repair anything that needs repairing and then REglue them.
. . .
THEN they have to fix the ceilings in my bedroom.
The pictures that i showed you HERE …that was actually beautiful compared to what it is now. When they were doing the roof it started to flippin’ monsoon one night and water just came pouring in.
Through the holes in my ceiling and through my roommates fan in her room.
Yeah, it wasn’t pretty.
. . .
So with all of that being said things are a’happing on the home front, most of it i wish i could DIY but i would probably do more damage in the process and end up costing myself WAY more money than hiring professionals. Sometimes you just have to realize that your hands are tied.
. . .
What about you…
Any projects on the home-front that you can’t DIY?
Is it pouring in your life?
What project do you keep putting off hoping it will just magically fix itself?
