Music.
I LOVE IT.
I have it on when i’m cooking, painting, cleaning, sitting, running, chilling, etc.
I was raised in a home where we always had the record player on/ or stereo and played anything from Billie Holiday to ACDC to Hanson…what a range right?!
I’ve gotten some new CD’s that i just cant stop listening to (yes i’m the type of person who plays a song and repeats it 15 times to learn the words and to hear all of the layers of music).
. . .
Let me also just say that i LOVE CD’s and Records.
I’ll buy music online, but i’d prefer to have the hard copy in my hand. I love album artwork (unfortunately it’s dying out due to music online), having the lyrics, and seeing how bands worked over putting it together.
LOVE.
. . .
So with all that being said i can now explain how excited i was when i got this new CD in the mail, AND it was signed…
Oh, you don’t know who The Classic Crime is?! Shame on you. They are fantastic. I’ve been listening to them since their first album dropped forever ago. I’m in love with their music.
When i saw that the CD was on the console table in the foyer I got so excited that i ran into my brothers room shoving it in his face saying “LOOK WHAT I GOT TODAY” to which he responded “yeah, i already saw it, i hate you, now let me listen to it”. We love each other, really.
Here is one of their songs off of the new album.
Glass Houses

. . .
Amazing right, you’re welcome.
Another band that i’m loving is Royal Taylor. These guys are so much fun and so grounded.
I think they would be so fun to just chill with and laugh for hours. I love their entire album, but this song is seriously my favorite.
“Hold Me Together”

Tauren Wells, the lead singer, actually made a video to give the background story of the song listed above. This guy gets it…and is totally authentic and genuine…we need to get coffee some time and chat. So, Tauren, contact my people and we can talk. {ha, like i have people}

. . .
Since i don’t want to load this down with tons of videos, i’ll share one last artist with you, who is hands down my favorite.
The Rocket Summer.
Bryce Avery is an incredible musician and lyricist. On his albums he actually plays all of the instruments (unless its an orchestra [which he’s had on his album before] then he has others do those) and lays down all of the lead and back up vocals. When he tours his friends tour with him and play a lot of the instruments…how awesome is that?!
The man is talented, and more importantly gives all glory to God.
I found out about The Rocket Summer years ago and have raved about him ever since; and on record my brother loves his music just as much as i do.
Bryce just released a new CD a month or so ago and it is my go-to album for anything. I run to it, clean, sing like a 14 year old, and cry. Yup, all the ranges of emotions.
I’ll share with you the song, 200,000, which he is actually in the process of making a video for.
I love every.single.song. on this album, Life Will Write The Words.
UGH SO GOOD.

. . .
So those are some of my music picks for you! Maybe i’ll start doing this more often…you know since i’m a music snob and everything…i kid i kid.

What is one of your favorite artists/songs?
Are you a “i have to listen to music all of the time” junkie like i am?
Have you heard of any of these bands before?
Spill.

i've never been good at listening to hip and cool music, but my brothers always find awesome artists to listen to, and one of their favorites is classic crime! great recommendations and you definitely should do posts like this more often! 🙂

I love music & I am the same way with wanting the actual cd – i like the cover design & i like reading every single lyric & seeing who wrote the lyrics, who plays the keys, etc etc! Haha. But i haven't bought a cd in awhile… online either for that matter. Kinda sad. I usually do get into a song & play it until it is WORN OUT. I just get obsessed with an artist and i'll listen to them forEVER!

I haven't heard of this group!! 🙁 I will give them a listen tomorrow! 🙂

I've had this link open forever just trying to find time to sit and just listen to the music you linked. Finally had time to do that. 🙂

Really liked the sound of Royal Tailor! will have to check more. 🙂 And it was a great story behind the song.

My go to music… hmm… Matt Kearney. David Crowder Band. And then I draw a blank because I'm exhausted and can't think.

Ummm, LOVE your picks! I'd heard of Rocket Summer through my roomie when I first moved down here. The other two are totally new to me, but I love their sound. I'm a terrible musician (I play piano) as I don't keep up with music half as much as I would like. Though, now that I have Pandora, I am learning a bit more through that 🙂
