2010 & 2011 Halloween Decorating

One of my favorite things about Halloween is the decorating.
Coming up with new ideas, scouring websites for fresh takes, watching movies…etc.
Ah, decorating is fun!
I thought that today i would share some of my decorations from last year.
I’m still learning how to decorate; that might sound weird but i think it’s a process.
Sometimes you make incredibly horrible mistakes and that is ok! I’ve found that sometimes taking the chance helps us to actually learn. Just like with painting a wall; sometimes you don’t realize how horribly wrong the paint color is until you take all of your time and effort and slather that paint on and BAM you see the hideousness.
Same goes with decorating, even for Holidays. 🙂
. . .
So without further ado…here are some pictures from 2011’s decorating.
I actually added some black tule to the mantle on the last picture {and i forgot to take a picture}.
.  .  .
I found the bat silhouettes online last year and it took forever to trace/cut them out, but i love them. I’ll actually be using them again this year in a different part of the house! As you can see in the pictures, i didn’t cut out the tale. or feet…it was too tedious for the millions i made!
Pinned here.
. . .
The skeleton flamingos were a hit! {and they are already back outside this year!}
I bought two off of Amazon last year and i LOVE THEM.
I will say that the pieces where the poles go into were a little warped and we had to use black electric tape to keep them together. I’d love to buy a few more but they are not in the Halloween budget this year; one day little skeleton flamingos….one day..
. . .
I got the black wreath from Michaels and bought the extra spiders and “Trick or Treat” sign from there as well. It was fun to make my own wreath!
. . .
I was only able to find a few pictures from 2010’s decorating. I didn’t have a legit camera that year and well…i apparently didn’t care to take pictures, so i have four good ones.

I added the last one of my friend, Elvis, to show the fireplace.
My friend Lauren & I took a solid hour spacing out that spider web and trying to make it as spooky as ever! The thing i can’t stand about fake spider web is when people barely spread it out and then toss it on their bushes…YUCK. Take the time to spread the junk out!!! 🙂 haha.
I’m a fake spider-web snob.
. . .
So there are some pictures from past years decorating. I’ll start sharing this years decorating within the next week or so! Get excited, Maria & I have been working very hard on it!
This years theme: Elegantly Scary.
Weird right? 🙂
. . .
Don’t forget tomorrow is Frankly Friday!
Get your posts ready to go and sign up tomorrow!

. . .

& while i’m already reminding you. Please sign-up for our Sweet Treat Swap! 🙂

Who doesn’t want to receive a present in the mail full of goodies?!!?

I wish I could get serious about decorating… not even for a season… just decorating the house ha! I'm so lame about that. 🙂 All of my christmas decorations (including my tree) fit into a not too big bin. It's awesome haha.

    I LOVE the skeleton flamingos!!!
