Welcome October!
I am so thrilled that October is finally here!
I’ve loved this month for as long as i can remember. Maybe it’s because my father’s birthday, my birthday, and halloween are all packed into a lovely 31 days. Maybe it’s because i have fantastic memories of making pinecone bird feeders, costume parties, trick-or-treating with parents & friends, or the thrill of decorating with my mom.
Regardless of all of the reasons, i am always sucked into all of the fun things that come with October…specifically Halloween.
I’m not sure why i love Halloween so much. It could be that i hold fond memories from my childhood of making costumes with my mom and getting so excited and hopped up on candy from trick-or-treating. It could also be that i love dressing up (ahem, most girls do) and Halloween allows me to do that. 🙂 I’m a dork i know.
I guess i should go ahead and for-warn you that i will probably be posting a lot of halloween related things during this month. Whether that is tutorials on projects, past and present home decorations, recipes, fun halloween facts, favorite pins, pictures, etc. You name it, i’ll probably discuss it.
. . .
Now, i hope i haven’t lost any of you with my admission of love for halloween. 🙂
I just wanted to give you a taste of what you should be expecting to read for the next 31 days.
I am also NOT saying that Halloween’esq topics will be the only thing i’ll write about, heck-no-techno.
I’ll still be doing the Frankly Friday’s & updating on other house related gems.
So stay tuned! 🙂
. . .
To kick off the month i thought i would share a picture of my brother and I in some of our many home-made costumes. 🙂

What about you?
Do you love Halloween?
Do you choose to celebrate it or not?
What was your favorite costume growing up?
& who knows maybe i’ll share more pictures as the month progresses.
Oh my gosh I love "heck no techno." bahaha. Can't wait for all the Halloweening!
I love seeing the kids in their costumes, giving out candy, and seeing neighbors you don't get see on other days of the year. I think there is such a big "community" feeling that comes with Halloween. I love that!
Love your homemade costumes! One year I was a picnic. Hahahaha.
that photo is too cute! my favorite childhood costume was definitely dressing up as snow white, even though i was blonde. 🙂
happy monday!
Our family never did the Halloween thing growing up. I've never been trick-or-treating, and i went to one costume party (in high school). I don't think people are evil if they do halloween though! Just not my thing, b/c we never did it growing up. I have enjoyed helping at churches that do the Fall Fest thing and i LOVE October. LOVE!!
So, when is your bday?! 🙂
You two are adorable! And homemade?! That takes skill!
