. . .
It was really fun going to the market, and around town to find things that best represented Charleston, SC. I really do live in one of the most historically rich/beautiful cities in the United States…if i do say so myself.
Some fun facts about Charleston:
~The first game of golf ever played in the US was played in Charleston, SC.
~The first shot fired in the Civil War was fired by Citadel Cadets on Morris Island.
~There are NO basements in Charleston, SC…the water table is too high.
~Black Beard & several other pirates held Charleston Harbor at siege in 1719.
~On 12/20/1816 there was an unanimous decision to pass the first ordinance of secession.
~The Swamp fox {Mel gibson made a movie about him aka the Patriot} helped build Fort Sullivan.
~Many of The Notebook movie scenes were filmed in Charleston, SC.
& tons more.
Basically you can just google Charleston SC and look at the images. 🙂
. . .
So with that being said i sent Kristin a box full of little trinkets from my beautiful city:
BASICALLY…those Pralines are the best thing ever. Seriously, DELICIOUS.
You can find some online here; that was one of the only GOOD websites i could find.
Some people might be thinking what the heck is the pineapple?! Well it’s actually a silver coaster picked up from our Market. Down at our waterfront park we have a huge Pineapple fountain that children {and adults too} can get in, wade through some of the water, and just enjoy!

. . .
Now onto what the lovely Kristin got me! 🙂
BIG THANKS to Kristin for sending me some seriously awesome things! <3
I love them all!
. . .
AND, as if you weren’t already expecting it.
I will continue to promote it until it’s over
Don’t forget to sign up for the Sweet Treat Swap!
Love your swap boxes! Especially the pineapple coaster that you sent to Kristin. I love the pineapple tradition and how frequently they appear in southern society.
You do have a pretty awesome hometown!
