Yesterday you to got to see me as Minnie Mouse when i was younger, well that got me thinking…why not be embarrassed even further by looking back at some of my other costumes.
. . .
The first three you will see happened when i was in College.
AKA Cheap/Broke/Sad state financially.
Don’t judge a girl, just be amazed by my creativeness! 🙂
. . .
Here i was as Jasmine…Yup, from Aladdin. Do you see the image i printed out and safety pinned to my shirt. Classy.
I was a dead prom queen here. I just used an old dress, made a sash, and slathered on way too much makeup. Loads of fun i tell you, loads of fun.
Here i was Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd. 🙂
Do you see the fishnet over my arms? I basically cut the crotch out of a pair of stockings and BAM instant creep. 🙂 I basically used a lot of layers on tank tops and skirts, teased my hair, bought a pie and i was done.
. . .
Then i was Winifred from Hocus Pocus {she is in the middle}:

. . .
Last year, i was Rizzo from The Pink Ladies! 🙂
Fun Right?
. . .
One thing i’ve learned about Halloween costumes is that it is OKAY to make something you’re own.
Whether it’s because you don’t have the $$ to shell out for a full costume, you want to be more original and take your own spin on something, or you simply want to make it fun.
Over the years i’ve come to terms with the fact that spending $100+ on a full blown (and sometimes unfortunately cheaply made) store bought costume is just not worth it.
Shop around, go to thrift stores, rummage through friends & relatives closets.
Find something that you want to be for Halloween and then work towards it!
Google images, look up DIY options, put a fresh spin on a worn out character, and have fun.
. . .
This year a lot of my friends coming to my halloween party are going to be Disney Characters! I can’t wait to see how everyone makes each character their own.
🙂
Now me…
this year i’m going to be the Queen of Hearts & i am excited!
I already have about 85% of my costume in my house; i just have a few more things to pick up and then throw it all together. This costume will be unique and not the Tim Burton Queen of Hearts we’re used to seeing lately, and i’m ok with that!
i was totally queen of hearts one year when i was like 2nd grade best costume ever!!

You are so creative! Halloween used to be my favorite holiday. I get the innocence if it, but we had to give it up. I still love dressing up wheneverbI get the chance though!
