Guys like to smash things

Well you see my brother was home for Christmas break and he decided to re-arrange his bedroom the minute he got home; and I mean the MINUTE he came home. I even posted this on Instagram:
. . .
Just in case you needed a refresher on what my brothers room looked like before he turned it into this mass chaos. These pictures are right after i painted his room and before i moved furniture in/out.
{and from the post man cave}
These are after i moved in his furniture and hung up some pictures:
. . .
Well lets get to the whole point of this post. 🙂
Do you see the dresser in the third picture?
Well that is a piece that has been in our family for a while and it has always been one of Bo’s dressers. While he was moving his room around i heard a ::THUD:: and then bo sulked down the hallway and here was our conversation:
Bo: I think i broke it…
Me: ummm…..broke what?
Bo: Well, do you have wood glue?
Me: You’re avoiding the question.
Bo: Maybe you could help me slide it back together…
Me: {at this point i get off my bed and start walking down the hall} What did you break?
Bo: The dresser
Me: HOW?
Bo: It was too heavy and it pulled apart.
Me: Didn’t i tell you to take the drawers out?
Bo: …
Me: It was ‘too much work’ wasn’t it? You didn’t want to take out the drawers?!
Bo: SO WHAT!!!!!! HELP ME!!!
We both started laughing, the dresser was completely ka-put.
So what does any sane person do?
Well smash it of course.
Duh…cause he’s a dude.
We couldn’t donate it (the main support of the piece of furniture was shattered), burn it (it had a veneer over it), or re-use it so Bo went next door and borrowed a sledge hammer and the fun began:
The best part?
Every slam sounded like a gunshot and people kept sticking their heads out of the door.
HILARIOUS.
I kept saying Oh great, someone is going to call the cops and they are going to show up to you demolishing a dresser in our front yard and we’re going to be put on a redneck reality show.
. . .
Well since Bo has left for college i decided to finish picking up his room {ugh boys} and took some pictures of how he’s re-arranged it. We still have a few more pictures to hang up, build his head board, replace his fan, hang curtains and a few more things. 🙂
My verdict: I like it!
I think this layout is much better and his space is being used more wisely.
You might also noticed that he got rid of some furniture, the white dresser/side table and the dresser he smashed, the mirror came down (and he doesnt’ want it back up).
And you’re welcome, that was a TON of pictures!

That looks like SO much fun! At that point it's too late to get upset anyway, so you may as well make light of the situation! 🙂

I love that zebra print blanket, by the way!

    This is hilarious.
I have an old dresser that I could definitely do the same thing to.

If only I had a sledgehammer!

hahahha yes. that is fantastic. I love how he went from being a little sheepish about the fact that he broke the dresser to total addmission of guilt and publicly demolishing it!
