This past weekend i was doing some cleaning in my living room and i realized that something wasn’t working anymore. I couldn’t quite figure out exactly what it was that was erking me that day; but i knew that i wanted to change something.
So i started unpacking some of the book shelves…

It might help if i gave you a general view of the room huh?
(the top picture is just horrible (blurry and bad lighting) so my bad; the bottom picture is from Christmas where you can partially see the other half of the room.)
I bought the two book shelves from Ikea [Lerberg $19.99] and they have been surprisingly sturdy!
Let me give you a glimpse into my thought process:
This room is no where CLOSE to where i want it to be…in fact it is honestly a hodge-podge of furniture and decorations that, while i love, don’t always fit together.
I have some ideas for this space (i’ll share them tomorrow) that will take some time and $$ to put into place…so one day at a time right?
=)
Now onto what i accomplished on Saturday.
The book shelves had been on either side of the windows for the last two(ish) years.
It was time for them to move and for me to get out of my comfort zone and actually change something in this room. I reminded myself that i needed to take all of the books off anyways to dust the shelves so why not just see if they could work in another part of the room?
LOVE IT.
It opens up the room x10 and you can actually SEE the books.
I need to do something about those chairs (aka re-cover them and move them to another part of the house) since they don’t really fit in this space anymore; but it’s all a process.
I temporarily added something to the corner (that you see in in the picture with my brother) since it was completely empty after moving the bookshelf.
It works for now.
. . .
So what do y’all think?
Have you recently had the itch to move something around?
Spill.

it looks great!! i got the itch last night and reconfigured everything on our book shelves! you did such a great job, looks like such a cozey fit!
I love it! I would spend half of my life inthat room beacuse of those windows! 🙂 What are you going to put in there instead of the chairs?
I really like how they're flanking the doorway now. I think it fits the space really well!
Wow, you've made great progress! I like your dining room color a lot.
I love what you did with the space!! I was dying to rearrange our main room but just couldn't come up with a new arrangement – so I chalked it up to just being bored with it and kept it the same. Those bookshelves look great though!!
I loooooooooove it! Looks so comfy! I love the colors, too!
