The lovely Jessica from Over Thinking tagged me with some questions that i figured i would finally answer today…since i’m slack and all 🙂
Here are her questions:
1. Who is your favorite author?
Well i definitely don’t have just one…because i am a crazy bookworm who has shelves and shelves of books. Some of my favorites are: Ted Dekker, Amy Bartol, Francine Rivers, Craig Gross, Denise Hunter, and way to many more to count.
2. What is the scariest thing you have ever done?
Hmmmm…i don’t really know. I don’t like scary things (movies, haunted houses, bla bla bla…i would have to say when i was in my teen years i participated in some really really stupid things, and i very easily could have died a handful of times. Ha i’m being vague…enjoy it. 🙂
3. Describe the worst haircut you’ve ever had.
OH. MY. GOSH. Well as you know i have super curly hair, and what happens when you cut curly hair too short? FRO…i mean HUGE FRO. Around age 11-12 it was cool to get super short hair cuts, almost like a bob…and all of my friends were doing it. The hair-dresser i randomly went to didn’t even warn me and cut off all of my hair (seriously, i only had like 5 inches left) and it turned into the biggest fro you could ever imagine. HORRIBLE.
4. What is/was your favorite subject in high school?
I am definitely an artsy fartsy kind of person. 🙂 I loved art classes, english, discussion etc. I took a creative writing class my freshman year of high school and absolutely LOVED IT. I also took a sculpting class and we were able to use the sculpting wheels and get super messy…so much fun.
5. If you could go back in time,
what time period would you choose?
I’ve always said that i would choose the renaissance since that is my style ha…but the more i think about it the more i really REALLY would like to travel back and see the teachings of Jesus FROM Jesus, that would be awesome.
6. Do you prefer morning or night?
Definitely morning. I love mornings, and i feel i get more accomplished during the day than at night.
7. Do people you know in “real life” read your blog?
A few, or maybe more than a few i’m not really sure, i know a handful do haha.
8. What time do you go to bed?
Oh my gosh…it varies. I try to be in bed by 10:30 but the reality is that i don’t fall asleep until after 11…closer to 11:30 and i hate it, i wish i was in bed earlier.
9. Who is your favorite musical artist/band?
Hands down i love The Rocket Summer. I also love The Classic Crime, Jimmy Needham, The Black Crowes, Trip Lee, Lecrea, honestly way too many to name.
10. What is your favorite quote?
I wouldn’t say i have a favorite; but there are a lot that i enjoy. One of my current favorites is:
“God sometimes takes us into troubled waters not to drown us, but to cleanse us.”
11. Are there any movies coming out in 2013 you are looking forward to?
YES SO MANY!!! Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters, OZ the great and powerful, G.I. Joe Retaliation, Beautiful Creatures, Safe Haven, Admission, Catching Fire, Jack the Giant Slayer, Much Ado About Nothing, The Wolverine, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Riddick
. . .
Thank you Jessica for asking the questions, i hope my answers weren’t boring! 🙂
Instead of nominating 11 other bloggers to answer questions; i thought i would just put some questions out there and if you feel like answering do it and let me know so i can read them!!
1. Who inspires you?
2. If you had the night off with no distractions…what would you do?
3. What scares you?
4. Is there a song/movie/word that makes you absolutely happy?
5. Where did your name come from?
6. Cats or dogs or both?
7. Sunshine or overcast?
. . .
Happy Tuesday!!
{Psst…i’m still trying to catch up on all the blog reading! i’ve missed hearing about y’alls lives!}
Oh man, Amy! We have so so so much in common. I have only met one other person who even knows who The Classic Crime is! They are one of my favorite bands! 🙂 I also really enjoyed English and Art classes. Math and Science were my weak points…and I have a scientific degree. Makes no sense…
It is funny that you mentioned going back and hearing Jesus' stories from Him. My sister and I were just discussing that the other day. I can't even imagine it! It would be SO amazing.
And I really wanna see a pic of that fro! Hahaha. I am sure you rocked it!! 🙂 I had a horrible short hair cut around the age of 11 as well, but my hair is straight. So it kinda looked like Johnny Depp in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Complete with tiny bangs and all.
Thanks for answering my questions!! 🙂 I want to answer your's too! I will and let you know when I do. 🙂
I always love reading your posts< Amy. 🙂 Girl after my own little heart.
I agree about seeing Jesus. Like let's watch him take some fish and chips and feed 5,000 people, yeah?
I don't meet too many other people who love The Rocket Summer, I had to do a double tale when I read that sentence!! The Rocket Summer is the shiz!!!!!! Haha!
I laughed out loud at the haircut story! I had the UGLIEST haircut in 2nd grade. I decided i wanted a perm like my mom, but what i got was what i call, "George Washington curls". You know? Big fat curls in a line down the center of your head?! I hated it so much i had them CUT OFF THE CURLS! Which means – butcher cut! HAHA! Ugliest school yearbook photo ever!
Same here on a lot of our answers! 🙂
I want to hear the teen year stories! hahahahaha. I loved reading all these thing about you! It was so much fun! That haircut story is hilarious. I SO remember those years when the bobs were in style! I cute my hair off too and had never used a straightener. But my hair was just ugly and weird at the bottom. It wasn't awesome like yours!! And I am so with ya on the scary stuff. I don't do scary stuff either. Also, I think it's so neat that you would love to be there when Jesus taught. I think that is so awesome and I totally agree with you. Gahhhhh I have missed your blog. I'm catching up- once again!! 🙂
!! I LOVE Francine Rivers!! Her Mark of the Lion trilogy is phenomenal! And Redeeming Love… oh man! Love it!
Also, I had the EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE at age 11! The one where everyone was getting that horrible short haircut and I had naturally curly hair. Oh man, it was bad. Absolutely afro!
