Why not junior year…because oh my gosh why did i ever leave the house looking like that.
TRUST that year…oh my gosh…blinding, horribly bad!
On top of that, Senior year was so much fun!
My aunt actually made my dress, yup she made that.
It is an authentic corset that my best friend Jessie had to learn how to lace me in…that was hilarious.
The bottom was a beautiful skirt that had a long train…and i had green accents. Needless to say i wasn’t worried that anyone would be wearing the same dress at prom.
I wanted something different, some thing classic, something that would be timeless and could potentially be worn again {i haven’t worn it since then, well only once} so i chose the corset.
Looking back, it was a little revealing; but i must say that today’s prom dresses make me want to cover girls in bed comforters…insanely immodest.
. . .
I went with my best friend/date, Steven and my bestie Jessie & her BF Josh.
It was so much fun, we made some absolute awesome memories!
Some of my favorite memories:
~Laughing at me while attempting to get in Steven’s car in a corset.
~Laying the seat back so i could breathe.
~Jessie having to loosen the corset so i could eat soup at a restaurant. {couldn’t eat much at all in the corset}
~Steven calling me the best AND cheapest date ever {since i only ordered soup at a nice place}!
~Dancing the night away with Steven & my other best friend LJ.
~My corset almost falling off because we forgot to retighten it after the restaurant and after all the wiggling around dancing it came loose. So LJ having to keep his hands on my waist and shimmy me to the bathroom while looking for Jessie in a crowd of 300+…yeah that was awesome!
~Steven fake-kissing me at the last minute of taking a picture. I had NO idea it was happening; and oh my goodness my friend Justin’s face (on the left)…hilarious.
~Doing the cha-cha slide {obviously} with all of my friends.
~Being surrounded by people i had gone to school with since 1st grade, people i had developed relationships with, loved, cherished, and enjoyed their company!
~KNOWING that this was my last time to be surrounded by all of these people in one place, and really enjoying it.
~After prom we went to a friends house for a while and then Jessie & I {just us i promise!} went to a local hotel that we had reserved a room, put in super troopers and passed out! It was amazing.
. . .
Here are a few more pictures from that night.

Oh & what made my senior prom date so awesome; other than the fact that he was hilarious, my best friend, cute, charming, and a great dancer?
He was also my 8th grade dance date!
& yes my friends that is cornrows/twists in my hair…i could/still can rock it!
. . .
. . .
What about y’all; did you go to prom?
What did your dress look like?
Was it a fantastic experience?
or horrible?
I want to hear all about it!
I think you told me about this corset dress? I love the cornrow/twists in your hair! Haha, awesome throwback!
I like your dress a lot! Very pretty.
I was also in the class of 2006. Our prom sucked. It was in a dark room with a few crappy lights on tables, and a big Eiffel Tower decoration in the background. The DJ played almost nothing but rap songs. People were mad because they wanted some slow, romantic dances with their dates. Overall, a waste of money.
we are the same age! man. if I thew some of my prom pics into a post it would be crazy! maybe i should…. ah. maybe i shouldn't lol!!!
Oh gosh, your prom pictures are so cute!! Mine are just ridiculous. Why did we wear some of these things?! Haha.
That dress made your boobies look good, girlie! 😉
I wore a pink tulle puffy princess dress to my prom. It was fabulous! 🙂
Oh prom! I had a blast at mine too!
So cute that you went with the same guy from your 8th grade dance! I love it! And your dress looked amazing on you! Love that you had something unique! I am all about the corset back! My wedding dress had a corset back and I loved it!
how fun!! and what a neat dress! super sweet that your aunt made it. love those memories!
Oh, high school proms. Those were the good ol' days, right??
