This weekend was actually fun.
Friday night Maria (the roomie) and I went to the Riverdogs Baseball game!
One of the vendors from work got skybox tickets and graciously invited my office! We were able to sit in an air conditioned box, have free food & beer/wine, chat it up with some friends and coworkers, and go outside of the box for outdoor seating.
Did i mention we saw a GRAND SLAM!?!?!?!?!? It was uh-mazing, and actually pretty funny too.
The catcher had the pitcher throw 4 balls, in a row, purposefully, so that they would have the bases loaded in hopes of performing a double play and ending the inning.
They had the bases loaded alright.
Then Greg Bird gets up to bat and SLAMS IT OUT OF THE PARK!
The crowd went absolutely crazy, including myself. To actually witness a grand slam is rare, so i was pretty freaking thrilled! The crowd was SMALL since it had poured rain until 5pm (game started at 7).
We didn’t stay for the fireworks (i know!), because we wanted to beat some of the traffic out of there (trust me, it takes forever to get out of downtown after a game lol)

. . .
I went on a run, about died in the heat, but thankfully had some awesome music (and kept praying my phone wouldn’t die so it would continue to track my route).
. . .
Saturday my brother & I spent 4 hours cleaning out the garage!! Is it clean? No. HA. There is so much stuff in there it is absolutely insane! We put a lot of stuff on the trash pile (that was gone by sunday afternoon) and filled up two garbage bins; again only making a dent in the garage. When you take into consideration that this hasn’t really been done in…10 years…a lot gets thrown in there!
We had fun though {you can see my brothers instagram video to get a taste}, we played around with the leaf blower, threw baseballs, threw bouncing balls, frisbees, and then he busted out the skateboard. I made him stand beside me so i could hold on and i “skateboarded” maybe 5 feet and then almost busted it. That was the theme of my attempting to skateboard. I really wish i could do it, i’m just terrified of falling and busting the crap out of my butt, legs, arms, head…but i really want to learn! GAH.
Maria actually skateboarded too, but wouldn’t hold onto Bo, then busted it. 🙁 Poor thing.
By the time we were done for the day (around 5pm it started pouring) i was over it. We smelt disgusting, were covered in dirt, dust, and who knows what else…i was thankful for a shower!
I relaxed and did nothing on saturday night and sunday night…and i don’t feel guilty about it.
I got a new sweat shirt from old navy (clearance $4!!) it says “It starts with a smile”…i love it.
. . .
So the weekend was fun!
I didn’t get a lot accomplished IN the house; but life happens and that’s ok!
How was y’alls weekend?
SO cool that you got to see a grand slam!! I've never seen one at a live game (only on TV)!
Aww, it sounds like you had a great time with your brother! 🙂
So fun! I've never been to a live game and I think it would probably be a blast!!!!
Sounds like a good and productive weekend!! I don't dare touch my garage!! It's literally, PACKED! I'll clean it out when we move, hahaha!
Hooray for fun weekends! And I LOVE that sweatshirt. I remember seeing it online when it first came out and shaking my head at its original price. Old Navy clearance for the win! 🙂
I'm glad you had such a fun weekend… Even with all the cleaning! 🙂 That baseball game sounds fabulous! 🙂
That baseball game sounds AMAZING! I love baseball games, and add an air conditioned box with all that extra fun stuff? Perfection.
And I'm not gonna lie, those relaxing nights in sound pretty darn perfect, too. Love that sweatshirt!
what a fun weekend! i love when baseball is fun and exciting! haha
Love that sweatshirt! I loved it but wasn't going to pay the ridiculous original price for it… I'm going to have to check out my local Old Navy to see if I can spot it on clearance!
i want that sweatshirt!!!
To see a grand slam would be AMAZING!! And what great seats!
