well my gosh i had a pretty dang lofty home “to-do” list for 2013.
let’s review the list shall we?
i’ve crossed off anything that has been completed.
haha.
my “would like to” list wasn’t even TOUCHED.
for the record – this year was busy and money was tight.
so let’s celebrate what all DID happen on the home from this year…with pictures (lots of them so bunker down)!!
painted the short hallway – pantone emerald 2013 color of the year!
& added a new table to help balance everything out.
FINALLY pressure washed the back patio – so incredibly disgusting
revisiting the hall bath – man this room is NIGHT and DAY!!!!
overall i’m really happy with everything that was completed last year.
there are some things that weren’t finished (obviously) and i’m ok with that.
owning a home, updating it, and making it into “your style” is a process and unless you grow money on trees it will take budgeting, saving, and time.
i think i sometimes get discouraged because i see all of these “pinterest homes” that are exactly my style and i want to have it now. wow – way to be selfish and have the wrong priorities there amy. pinterest, as lovely as it is, definitely helps breed discontemptment and greediness, or am i alone in that?
i just need to keep reminding myself every time i pin something that i would love for my house to resemble that it will #1 take time #2 take budgeting #3 doesn’t have to be perfect.
your house is lovely and i love all the projects you've completed. don't let that list get you down! it takes lots of time and money, so home improvement is a slower process than we want sometimes 🙂 but just look at all you've done! lots of progress! 🙂
Everytime I see photos of your house I get excited about having my own house to decorate when I "grow up." And can I just say how much I love it? Especially the dining room. The floors, the wall color, the exposed beams on the ceiling? Loooooove. Can I please come visit your house?
You did a great job! My favorite one is the floors. They made such a difference and look amazing!
I love that tile!! And your eagerness to make progress in your home projects! I say I want to do so much but never actually do it. I need to take a queue from your playbook! =)
LOVE the emerald walls! I think it's perfect. And pressure washing…that stuff is no fun! It's like the outdoor equivalent of cleaning out your shower drain, ha ha.
I would say you were highly successful in terms of household accomplishments! 🙂
Wow, great job! I know this kind of overhaul takes a lot of patience (and dust). I looooove those beams and the shade of gray you chose for the dining room is perfect!
So on the same page with you. I'm going to be posting a house project update this week too!
I think getting the floors done is a HUGE step!! If we had done something like that, it would probably be the only home update for the year haha. I can't wait to see what else you get to cross off your list for 2014!
I love all the updates you did!!! I can't wait to have a home so I can do these sorts of things. 🙂
WOW and WOW! You amaze me girl!!! xxxoo katie
Great updates! I seriously love your house. I remember your room and how you showed us that little makeover. LOVE. And I love that emerald color and your dining area. That floor is sooo pretty! You are doing a great job!
Also, you are not the only one that does that on Pinterest. 🙂
This looks amazing! It is so hard, especially with Pinterest, to be content with your home how it is… redoing this takes a lot of money, and I know for me it's hard to realize I need to save up for all the big changes I want to do.
Oh Amy, I think your house is lovely! You have done such an incredible job on it! It has come so far in the past year! 🙂
That tile floor is gorgeous, and your house is so cute. You really did accomplish a lot! If I were you, I'd still be trying to decide a paint color.
