these two.
my brother (in the buffalo plaid) and my cousin – they just make me smile.
life has never been dull when they are together – i mean their nicknames alone are fantastic: Bo & Ty.
Bo-Ty. Ty-Bo. the list goes on.
they constnatly surprise me with their thoughtfulness.
with their ability to brighten up a room.
with their compassion and deep thinking.
they are more than the average run-of-the-mill male.
they want to leave a mark on this world – to change it – to leave it better than when they first entered it. they work towards their dreams.
i’m so impressed by them.
i learn from them.
i hope they’ve learned and will continue to learn from me.
while Bo is my brother – ty, my cousin, is basically my little brother too.
i’m so thankful for my family.
for the bond that is unbreakable.
for this kinship that continues to grow as years pass.
i’ve seen few families that hold fast to our values and build relationships within their blood.
and it makes me sad.
i’m sad others don’t get to experience the things i have.
that they don’t have a family that is there for them through thick and thin, happy and sad, truth and lies. a family that cares enough about each other to sit down and discuss mistakes, help correct, and encourage and build each other up; a family that strives for Godliness.
i’m thankful for my grandparents – who raised daughters who gave birth to grandchildren who all love each other.
these two, along with all of my family, make my heart happy.
and just to share why, here are a just two snips from recent conversations:
uh…precious right?
i love them.
i’m so thankful for them.
what are you thankful for?

Amy, I LOVE your family. It is so obvious how much you guys really care foreach other…And as for the Bo-Ty, Ty-Bo thing, I totally mossed it until I actually read that part of the post! I was thinking, "Why?!?! Ummmm, because they both have two letters????" ????
Anyway, my morning brain aside…I'll believe you when you say these guys are great! I'm glad they're in your life! We all need some honest, good, caring guys close to us.
As for me? I'm thankful for so much right now. My friends, my family, the signs of spring, opportunities to learn and be free in this country, the way God is constantly tying everything together as He makes me more like Him, and food. Crazy, I know, but I've learned that having a variety of food to truly enjoy is definitely a luxury. So, there you have it.
Happy Tuesday!!!
Isn't family amazing? Siblings, cousins, grandparents, parents, are all amazing and thank you for this sweet reminder of how blessed I am to have my family! 🙂
p.s. Those texts are so sweet. Sooo sweet. Those men will make great husbands someday!
Have fun deciphering through all the typos…I'm on an ipad this morning and didn't realize how many there were until I hit publish.
Family is the absolute best. I miss the days when my cousins, my sister, and I spent practically all our free time together. I worry the younger ones won't get the same family ties that us older ones got. My sister and I will have to really work to make sure our kids have that experience even though we'll be separated. I'm hoping my family can build back to a relationship like yours has.
ahhhhhhh i love this. so wonderful to have two little brothers that love you like that 🙂
Family is one of the best things ever. And definitely one of God's greatest gifts to us. I have two older sisters and when I was growing up, I was closer to my youngest, oldest (make sense?) sister. Now, however, as we have all gotten older, I'm closest to my oldest sister. I love them both dearly and they are both amazingly strong with things they have gone through. They are some of my favorite people in the world.
Aww family is the best! 🙂
I love when family can be so close! They sound like two great guys – the world needs more of those!!
