this weekend was nice.
i was able to spend some much needed time relaxing and without obligaions – something i haven’t been able to do for about 2 months of weekends.
friday: some family time with my grandma, aunt, uncle, and cousin. bringing home a beloved loveseat that i have always loved.
saturday: a full day spent on the dock & in the kayak. time spent soaking up sunshine, reading magazines, breaking ladders, watching dolphins swim around, eating subway for the first time in months, and just enjoying the company.
sunday: was a hard day – i was missing mom a lot. i shoveled down my sadness and went and had lunch with some of my family – which was fun and well needed (BBQ anyone?!). after running some errands and some good friend time i came home to start hanging new things around the house, cleaning & organizing, relaxing, and food prep.
some snips from this weekend:
maria giving me the evil eye while i’m vacuuming the loveseat and she is studying “do you have to do that now?!” to which i enthusiastically respond “just two more minutes, i’m just so excited!”
my uncle’s dad saying to me “amy i like your new tattoos” and my grandmother fantically searching my body to see what i’ve added “she doesn’t have more, she only has that one…right?” ooooo hilarious. (and for the record, i only have one…for now)
as i’m kayaking around… “I FEEL LIKE POCAHONTAS!” …to which my cousin responds, “you don’t look like her”….zing!
“amy, try my onion rings baked in corn flakes…” – uh yes, and they were delicious!
“i have popcorn ceiling in my EYE!!!”
uhhh….wait…edison bulbs are how much?!?!?!

Cute pictures! I love the weekend convos section of this post! 🙂
Tell me more about that loveseat/chair/whatever it is shoved in the back of your car.
Glad you got time to CHILL and that involved everything that it did. Also, way to force yourself out for BBQ with your family Sunday – that was so the right thing to do!
Sounds like a good weekend! My husband bought a kayak this weekend, it was so random, haha! He uses it for fishing and was suuuper pumped about it. I can't wait to take it out and give it a try!
Looks like a great weekend…I've never been kayaking, but it's on my summer bucket list!
A kayak/dock day sounds like exactly what I need right now.
Beautiful pictures! What an amazing weekend!! 🙂
bahahaha the cousin snap chat pic. hilarious.

i'm glad you got out on sunday for some time with family 🙂 love ya, friend!
Loved reading through these! It sounds (and looks) like you had a great weekend. I love that polka dot top!
