her blog is something i constantly look forward to – and often save for some of my “last views” so i can really spend time pouring over her words, links, and pictures. (which also means i sometimes let them pile up to review in a massive binge session haha)
i’ve come to learn that her writing style pulls you in, causes you to reflect, and makes you want to come back to hear more. you will definitely enjoy reading her blog.
emailed me and asked me about joining her in talking about real beauty, the
kind that is deeper than the skin, I got so excited!
and celebrated, but instead it is being distorted and twisted and confused all
throughout our society. It breaks my heart.
without being told what “beauty” is. this hair color. this
body shape. these clothes. this make up.
important. You ladies need to know just how awesome you really are. Now, I am
by no means an expert on such matters, but if I could give you guys any advice,
it would be this:
every creature and every star in the sky sat down and created YOU. Every
freckle, every mole, every strand of crazy uncontrollable hair, and every single
eyelash, God gave you on purpose. That laugh that’s just a little
too loud? Those ears that stick out just a tad too much? That skin that’s just
a little too pale? God stinkin’ loves. He thinks you’re absolutely perfect.
and over any time I felt like I wasn’t enough) was Psalms 139. Those verses
remind me, and hopefully you, that God doesn’t make mistakes. We are exactly
how He wants us.

every day. There are still times I find myself struggling with my image and I
feel less than beautiful (*cough*….like when seeing pictures of myself like
the one below….*cough*).
dressed up, I close my eyes and I say the words of Psalms 139. I am “fearfully
and wonderfully made.” I picture God deciding my every detail. After
that, it seems quite silly to feel less than beautiful.
