i’ve spent the last few weekends working on my back hallway – and y’all it’s a process.
i thought it would be this easy little thing…you know, have my friend teach me how to do board and batten – paint it, build a bench + cubbie holder, hang an ikea curtain rod (yikes!), pick the right paint color, and you know, hang some art.
BAHAHAHAAHAHA.
nothing in my house is easy.
the walls are warped – the floor is uneven, and there are so many dang nooks and crannies in that back hallway/mudroom/pantry/laundry room that it just makes you want to bang your head against a wall.
so here is the before – because i like to show you the 2 paint colors it currently is, the yuck worn and wooden trim, and the just overall blahness that this hallway started with.
and as you can see…i even gave you a nice little preview of the trim getting painted!
i am so P.U.M.P.E.D to show y’all!
feel free to browse through my pinterest board to get a feel for what i’m going for.
i may have to get new lights down the road – but …hmm… we will see.
not only that, but picking a paint color seems to be harder than you think.
i want to brighten up the hallway (it doesn’t get much natural life) – even though i dream of having the top half of the board and batten to be a dark smooth color.
what do you think i’ll choose? a lighter color up top? or a smoother dark?
hmmmmm choices, choices.
