I’ve always been a reader.
Books, magazines, mémoires.
Words just captivate me; as do pictures.
Whenever I see another blogger post about what they are reading I am instantly drawn to it.
What is capturing their attention and what are they filling their mind with – it’s like a small little insight into what makes them tick.
I’m a people person – I love stories and and I love hearing them, reading them, and getting glimpses into all of the facets that make someone tick.
So, here is a small glimpse into what I’m currently reading.
Some of these links are affiliate links – but I love these reads!!
+ Belong Magazine | I found this little gem while in Barnes & Noble the other day and I am so glad I did. I think it’s best to just let them tell you what they are all about ((this is from their about page on their website) “Belong Magazine is a quarterly digital and print magazine celebrating the art and community of blogging, social media and entrepreneurship. In all that we do, we desire for women to use their passions for a purpose, to inspire women to be authentic, to be life-giving and to encourage one another. We want women to know that they are enough, that they matter and that they have a place. They belong. ” RIGHT?! Exactly the type of magazine I want to be supporting and reading!
+ Essential Oil Natural Remedies | I already have one essential oil book but I have been on the hunt for something more in-depth. It seems like every single book I found listed aliments or symptoms you had (think ear infection, sleep, anxiety) and which oils to use and NO list of just the oils and their healing properties. Don’t get me wrong I love being able to thumb through when I have a stomach ache or my head is throbbing – but I also wanted to learn more about the oils I have and how to better and more well-roundedly use them. I am sure other books out there will list off the oils and their properties but this does BOTH. It gives you a the list of issues and then which oils to use as well as a list of individual oils with a description, application methods, what other oils they blend well with, precautions, and medicinal uses. YES PLEASE and thank you!
+ Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows | Ok, can I let y’all in on a little secret? I am a huge harry potter fan – in fact the word “always” is engraved on Eddies wedding ring. I watch the movies on repeat and the story line just resonates with me (hello orphan friend); yet I have never read all of the books. GASP!!! I KNOWWWWWWWWW. I’m finally almost done with the last book and then I’m going to read the Fantastic Beasts (the movie was amazing) as well as the cursed child. They are just good fiction books to read. <3
+ Flutter Magazine | This was another magazine I found while pursuing Barnes & Noble. The front cover totally sucked me in and I simply just flipped through briefly before deciding I would buy it. It’s a beautiful magazine “dedicated to couture wedding and event artistry. It is a curated collection of chic celebrations for both brides and pretty party purveyors alike.” Needless to say it is a beautiful read!
What are you currently reading?
Do you have any favorite books or magazines you’re looking to for inspiration?
I wish I could insert the heart eyes emoji here! I love lit posts. I share what I’m reading a lot, but it’s usually just thrown in with other ramblings and not a designated post. Those magazines sound wonderful. I really need to do more nonfiction reading, so I hope you will keep sharing your finds.
It makes me so happy that you’re discovering the literature world of Harry Potter! I am one of those OG fans who read the first book in 1999 when I was the same age as Harry, so my journey with him was a life-changing one. My boyfriend had not read the books when we started dating, and I told him on our third date that I would never marry someone who hadn’t read them–HA! We are four years in now and he read them as soon as he graduated law school and had time, so I guess we still have a future. 😉
Last thing–just a warning that the original Fantastic Beasts book was just a little charity pamphlet published in 2000, really short, and was basically just written as a faux text book where the characters (Harry/Ron/Hermione) had written funny comments in the margins. The movie was a completely new and original plot by Rowling–I do believe they have now published a movie companion, but depending on what version you check out, I just wanted to warn you what to expect. As a Kid’s Librarian, I had a heck of a time trying to explain to parents what they were getting when they wanted to read more from the world of the movie but ended up with something essentially unrelated. Hope that helps!
THank you so much for that information!
I think it’s more of the screen play from the fantastic beasts – but the original sounds so interesting!
Yes the literature world of HP is amazing – I mean i’ve been a part of the world but reading it is just soooo good!
