It’s been a LONG TIME since I’ve done an Ask Amy post!
This is still a rather new thing and I am slowly collecting questions to answer on this space (so if you have some, comment below, shoot them to me on instagram, or even send me an email: aloveblog926@gmail.com).
Many of you know, or maybe don’t know, that I’m aside from blogging I am also a professional photographer. A Love Photography is such a fun space for me to capture the beauty of others in a way that will last a lifetime. I specialize in woman portraiture (boudoir, creative sessions, milestones, just-because) and couples.
I got my first camera second hand back in 2009 I think. I actually bought it off someone who was a professional photographer and was giving a really good deal for it. I remember carrying it with me EVERYWHERE and taking pictures of EVERYTHING, and I really do mean everything. I’ve always had an eye for the artistic things and I started having people tell me that I was taking some good photos and to keep practicing. The more I practiced the more I realized I really loved capturing the stories of others in portrait work. There is something SO AMAZING about setting up the scene and then letting the story unfold in front of a camera.

I am a natural-light photographer and I am still always learning SO MUCH. My editing style has changed at least 10x in the last 10 years, I still don’t know how to properly work all my camera functions (in fact, I basically shoot my sessions by feel, which is NOT what most photographers would recommend haha), and I still get super nervous before every session.
I have done a handful of weddings and while I love LOVE, I prefer elopements and am hoping to branch into that if someone wants to hire me for their wedding. I no longer do many family sessions as it’s not my passion.
I’ve honed in on the fact that I truly, TRULY, love capturing the fierce beauty of women and the absolute stunning love of couples. I specialize in Boudoir photography and as well as “Women in dresses” HA! That’s the best way I can explain it. Everywhere I go I find myself thinking “Gosh this spot would be gorgeous if I had a girl in a dress here.”

With all the moving we’ve been doing in the last two years (Navy spouse here!), I’ve found that getting clients in each location has been a challenge. It’s really, REALLY hard to market yourself to an area when you know no-one or nothing about it. 🙂 BUT which each move under my belt I’ve met some amazing people who turned into clients and I am truly so blessed to have captured a time in their life they can hold on to forever.

This year, 2019, I’m hoping to capture more fierce, courageous, and strong women. I hope to be a fly on the wall for couples who want to have their love shine through some images. I want to get in the water more (seriously, I LOVE water sessions), travel more, and get to know each person and their stories!
Interested in booking a session?
Head on over to my photography contact page and shoot me an email! I would LOVE to chat more about setting something up. I’m currently based in Charleston, SC but will travel anywhere!
