Welcome to our Charleston Sunroom!
This is actually the room that sold us on the house, well this room and the backyard! I remember when we were face-timed in by my family to walk through the house and it was nighttime, my aunt walked into this room and went “Oh Amy, It’s really nice” and then my brother goes, “Well you can’t see the backyard because it’s dark on the screen but it’s REALLY nice”. After that Eddie and I just kind of looked at each other and were like “we’re doing this”. (You can read more about the house story and how we bought it without ever walking through it here).
Sine we bought the house I’ve been dreaming about what I wanted this space to look like. I wanted it to be my go-to room in the house for inspiration and comfort. All the natural light paired with the backyard water & landscape views screamed for this to be a seamless transition of bringing the outside in. Originally I thought I was going to go with a safe color on the walls and do a light white/cream/beige but the more I thought about it I just knew this room could carry the weight of a rich color. I bought a few paint samples and tested it and even asked y’alls opinion!
I painted this entire room with a paintbrush. *YES. I. DID!*
The first side I painted took what felt like forever because I was learning how to paint all the wooden crevices in the best way and was struggling. By the time half the room was done I was in my rhythm and binge watching Santa Clarita Diet. I fell in love with this space even more once the paint dried and I re-hung the curtains. Just last weekend I got the large 9×12 woven rug delivered and my brother, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law helped me move the sofa out and lay the rug down. I can’t wait to get more plants to fill out the buffet table and hang in the macrame hanger I’ve got on the curtain rod. It’s all coming together nicely.
To say this room brings me joy would be an understatement. This is the room where I spend quiet moments with Jesus reading my bible, journaling, and praying. I curl up on the couch and soak up some fiction books with hot tea. These walls have already heard deep conversations with myself and friends and I can’t wait to see what other moments will happen here.

Oh and just as a reminder…this is what it looked like before with the previous owners furniture & then an empty slate!
