I realized yesterday while painting the sunroom (ps – I FINALLY finished painting!) that I haven’t really shared much of this house. If i’m being honest I’ve actually been struggling HARD with decorating this house, which has thrown me off. Before moving back home I had all of these ideas of what I wanted to do and how much I was going to accomplish and now that I’m here I find myself lacking the followthrough.

I think it’s because this is our “forever home” and we’re going to be here longer than a year and hope to come back and retire here after the next military move. I also have so much wallpaper to remove that I find myself not wanting to hang things because I know they will have to come back down.

HOWEVER this week I am actually starting the process of hanging things in the house and just making it happen. I can’t wait for wall paper to be removed or rooms to be fully painted before making this house feel more like home. I have piles of stacked frames just waiting to get on the walls and it’s way past time.

So I picked up some things (and threw them into a closet of course) and snapped these pictures yesterday of our Master Bedroom. It’s not completed, not by a long shot and this is one of the rooms in the house that is completely covered in textured wallpaper (I know it’s not noticeable in photos but trust me, it’s there). Eddie built the headboard and for his first go it’s not too shabby but we want to do something different down the line. I want to hang more artwork on the walls and maybe get a different floor mirror. My bedside table often turns into a nightmare but that’s because I hoard too many things 😉 – tell me I’m not alone here. I will say one of my favorite things in the room is our large picture that I get to see every morning when I wake up and every evening before I fall asleep. I also have my wedding bouquet laying next to it (I used faux florals!) and it brings me so much joy.

Headboard DIY | Comforter (I got a king size to be oversized) | Black/White Blanket (this is out of stock so here is another I love) | Bedside Lamps (similar)| Dressers | Curtains | Bench (similar) | Bed skirt | Fiddle Fig Tree (similar) | Basket (similar) | Bedside Tables | Rug (it is SO comfy!) | Framed Picture
