It’s definitely winter time, friends. The weather here in Charleston has been so sporadic but it’s been slowly dropping into those chilly temps. I’ve been spending my weekend mornings with the space heater plugged in, my new Christmas jammies on, and sipping on some delicious Maxwell House coffee while reading in the sunroom. These are some of my favorite moments of the season. Quiet mornings overlooking the pond; soaking in a story; watching the birds and alligators between chapters; and sipping on something warm, delicious, and comforting.
Y’all, this season can be full of so many things: commitments, events, work, projects, functions, stress, sickness, traveling, etc. I want to remind you to practice some slowness when you can. Take full advantage of those moments where you can practice reflection and restoration. Even if it’s only an hour on a Saturday morning, pour yourself a cup of Maxwell House coffee and just be present.
I was making a quick stop to grab some mid-week groceries and ran into one of my favorite local grocery stores: BI-LO. I love being able to go into a grocery store that is welcoming, organized, and has helpful staff. And to me, that’s always BI-LO! I was hunting for some new coffee to get this household through the holiday season and easily found the Maxwell House Smooth Bold Coffee nestled in with all the coffee aromas. I went with the large option (26.7oz!!) because—let’s keep it real—with all the mornings ahead and family/friends stopping by, we always like to have coffee on hand to sip on!
Make sure you swing by a Southeastern Grocer store to save now!

You Are the Girl for the Job: Daring to Believe the God Who Calls You
I started this one strong and have tapered off. Mainly because it’s a read that brings some good conviction and makes me stop and really process what I just read. It’s definitely one of those books to read if you feel you’re in a life rut.
The Unhoneymooners
A quick cute read that made me quirk a smile a lot. It’s flirty and funny and has that romantically comedy-ish vibe but in book form.
Carve The Mark
This was an audiobook I just finished and I really, really enjoyed it. It sucked me in quickly and was the perfect fiction to clean the house to / drive around / go for walks. It’s a quick listen—and I’m sure a quick read, too. I’m about to start the 2nd in the series while traveling. I’ll be reading that one asap!
The Road Back To You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery
I feel like this is a constant read for me. I find myself reading bits and pieces, and then re-reading them to reflect even more. I’m definitely a strong 8 wing 7 but sometimes a wing 9. It’s just an interesting little journey and I love learning more about it.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: The Illustrated Edition
So I may need to confess I’m not fully re-reading this one yet; I’m more-so looking at all the gorgeous illustrations. Eddie started a tradition where for my birthday, he has been getting me the illustrated copies of the books. We are actually wanting to re-read the series using the illustrated copies. They are just so dang pretty.
