I want to start this new series where I not only update y’all on where I’m at in my fitness / weight loss / healthy living journey but I also put it out there as a level of accountability. I want people to ask how I’m doing, what my goals are, and am I working towards them?
The last 3 years have honestly been ROUGH on my health. I originally gained about 35lbs back from the 70 I lost and have lost 10lbs of that original gain. I created a lot of bad habits with all the moving and didn’t make nutrition and working out a priority. I allowed the stress to creep in and I’ve found myself with a closet full of tight-fitting clothes, an injured hip, and lacking the true primal motivation to start making changes. I guess I more-so mean that I am missing that UMPHF.
I’ve been holding myself back a lot recently.
Feeling like I can’t really “start” until Eddie gets home and y’all that’s just not a good place to be. Feeling like your life is on pause has really caused a lot of issues in my health and wellness. I’m also in a job that requires me 3-4x a week to be up at 3:50AM and I’m going to be perfectly honest here: I’ve noticed it is really starting to mess with my health. Tie in the fact that I’m now well into 31 years old and my hormones / metabolism have changed again my weight is just NOT budging.
I actually shared recently some other thoughts on what all I’ve been walking through and it seems to just continue on without much change.
I have NOT been counting my macros.
I have NOT been doing lots of yoga videos.
I have NOT been sleeping well.
I HAVE been going on more walks recently.
I HAVE been making stretching more of a daily routine.
I HAVE been incorporating more fruits and veggies into my diet.
So while there has been some not so great changes, I’ve equally had some great additions into my daily habits! Without really realizing it I’ve become an 80% Pescatarian (basically eating veggies / fruits / seafood & occasional eggs) and while I’m not totally claiming that title it’s one that best fits what I’ve found myself eating!
GOALS FOR NEXT 30 DAYS
- Get more sleep. (anything over 6.5 hours would be ideal)
- Do yoga/deep stretching 3x a week.
- Get back into OTF classes, 1-2x a week.
- Stretch every. single. day.
- Add more fruits and veggies to my diet and be more aware of portion control.
- Limit to fully-eliminate processed sugars.
I really want to hone in on these 30 days because we’ve got a big trip coming up after that and I just want to feel really great physically! Will I be at my “ideal weight”…no, not even close, but I WILL feel so much better with putting more nutritious foods into my body and moving more intentionally!
