Oh hello friends, yes it’s Tuesday night and yes I’m just now getting to the point of posting about our weekend. Honestly it was so nice…the days had this sense of normalcy that has been missing for all these months since COVID hit. While I’m still struggling with this sense of unrealistic (and honestly dumb) comparison of how others are spending their time I am really happy and content with how my weekend went.
I hope you are doing well friend. I know this season of life has been just…all around weird. Some days feel really good and productive and other days feel like we don’t even know what month we are in. It’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to not get everything crossed off of your to-do list, it’s also okay to feel overwhelmed. We’re making it, each and every day we are making it.

FRIDAY
As I mentioned on my instagram stories Eddie and I have been processing through some things and it made Friday a really rough day. The night before we didn’t talk through some issues which meant Friday while we were both away from each other working we had this level of sadness and anxiety in wanting to be able to work through the situation together. I have this love/hate relationship with the phrase “Marriage is hard and it requires work” because it makes it sound like Marriage is this constant suck fest of having to do hard things, and yet at the same time it rings true. Marriage is hard because life is hard; we as individuals face challenges that require us to make choices and most of the time it requires change and effort and doing the whole adult thing which just, man can we all agree adulting is rough? Yet the hard stuff, those tough conversations, those moments of challenge help us to not only grow as individuals but if you are open in your communication with one another it helps you to grow together.
Ok, enough of that rant.
When Eddie got home from work we were able to have a really long and really honest and encouraging and beautiful conversation. We heard each other and it really helped us to walk through the conversation together.
Later on that evening we went over to my brother & sister in laws home to grab their waffle maker (so awesome) and ended up spending 2 hours chatting it up.
I also ended up getting a new large Tommy Bahama rug on super clearance (a store was closing) Thursday night and put it in while Eddie was at work. I got a little over zealous and pushed it in way too far so we need to pull it back out a little more (illustrated below ha!). I’m really excited about it because it’s HUGE (again I put it under the couch too far) and really brings everything together.
SATURDAY
This started as a super chill morning with sipping coffee in the sunroom and talking all about some of our dreams: vacations, owning a mountain house, growing our family, getting plugged in at a church, spending more time with family, making new friends, the list goes on. Eddie then needed to get some school work done so I went around the house cleaning and organizing. I listed a few things on facebook marketplace (seriously love it!) and have been selling things sporadically. I also love browsing the marketplace and seeing if anything catches my fancy. Well, y’all SOMETHING DID! I have been wanting to replace the pendant light above our kitchen table and while it’s been on the backburner I always keep my eyes open and I stumbled across a listing for a HUGE beautiful chandelier light and snatched this baby up for $75. You can find the original one here, yes I hunted it down), and I can’t wait to get it installed and get rid of that uh, ugly current light.
That night we ended up going out to Ocean Shade to do a small repair, sit on the beach, and spend time with my aunt and uncle. We actually grabbed dinner at one of the local joints, McConkey’s Jungle Shack, which fun fact in ALL THE YEARS I’ve been going out to the beach there I’ve only had subway. We just always cook at the house and bring meals from home so I never tried anything. Well, TRY SOMETHING. Eddie got a bacon grilled cheese and I scarfed down their burger and we got hushpuppies to share…it was delicious, like REALLY delicious.
SUNDAY
This day was just so good, so. so. good.
We had our friends Lyndsey & Brandon come over to start doing Home Church together. Eddie and I have ben missing Christian community and attending church something fierce and when I told my friend Lyndsey this she recommended we switch homes every other weekend so we can all attend a service together and watch online. So, we started at our house with some delicious waffles and great conversations and a wonderful message. It felt so…normal to have friends over and spend time actually building community.

That evening we had my brother & sister in law over for dinner. Eddie made a delicious crockpot chicken dinner and we spent time chatting and watching youtube videos. I also made the easiest and delicious dessert out of crescent rolls, nutella and fruit (banana & strawberries).
I meant to add I finally did some more propagation on Sunday and am not so patiently waiting for those roots to grow so I can make some new plants! I do have a propagation that is fully ready to be potted, so that’s a plus!
