Let’s see. I left off showing you the massive hole that was in the floor.
Did i mention that there was another one? Yeah, by the cabinets and the sink.
Glorious.
They had to lay down a new subfloor over the old one (most of the old one was in good condition, the parts that weren’t they cut out, replaced and laid the new one over). They then added the baker board (cement board) and started tiling.
I figured since y’all have been so awesomely patience i would give you a little sneak peak of the tiles being laid down. Currently all of the tile has been laid down & grouted!!
. . .
What does this mean for me?
Painting, painting…and more painting!
Seriously!
Last night i painted where the refrigerator goes (since i wasn’t able to get back their prior to the floors being done), the same color as the rest of the kitchen…or at least i thought so.
I bought what i had written down as the same color in the same finish in a quart size.
So while i had the paint out i did some touch ups in the nook area…
IT WASN’T THE SAME COLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Catch my drift?
I slightly cracked this morning.
“Hey Amy, it’s not a big deal…so just repaint the kitchen”
Yes…re-paint the kitchen.
That requires me pulling a gigantic ladder into the kitchen climbing and re-climbing it trimming the daylights out of windows, beams, etc. Then paint paint paint and paint.
Not including the baseboards, still have to paint those white.
Did i mention that when i painted this room the first time i spilt the entire gallon on the floor?
Before Church.
That’s what i get for working on the Sabbath. ha.
My roommate came in laughing at me because i was flipping out trying to get the paint up.
So i’m going to see if i have any of the original paint left…just a small amount should suffice.
Then again i used most of it, if not all of it when painting the bathroom.
My life.
. . .
More painting.
I’m trying to paint behind the washer and dryer before they put them back.
Did i mention that i won’t have enough paint to do that AND touch up the rest of the hallway with the original color? I bought an oops gallon at Lowes not that long ago and thought well hey, why not just paint all of this. So i did, it took forever (lots of nooks and crannies!) and now i’m going to have to re paint it all. Yippee!!!
AND i’m going to re-paint the computer/utility room.
So if you’re counting, that is three rooms to re-paint.
So i’m going to attempt to bust those out this weekend…on top of everything else i’ve got planned (boot camp, community yard work, a party, church, and a photo shoot).
I mean hey why move all the furniture back into the rooms when i still have to paint?!?!
Did i also mention that the following weekend (not this one) i’m having girls spend the night on Friday for a ladies night and then heading out of town for a wedding?
Yeah.
Maybe i’m setting myself up for another stress, fatigue, dehydration spell??
Oh, and one more thing, My internet/phone is still down at the house and the earliest appointment i could get with Comcast…saturday.
Well here is a good thing…
…i was able to cook eggs this morning!
Oh no! That's terrible! On the bright side, all of this will be over soon enough and you will LOVE the way it all looks! 🙂
The floors are looking good!! Uh I am not looking forward to painting the new house when we move in. There's just so many walls!!
Oh no! Sorry to hear that you have to paint another room! If I lived closer, I would totally offer to help paint. 🙂
p.s. LOVE that tile. It's so pretty!
Ugh! What a bummer about the painting! The floor is looking really nice. I can't wait to see it when it's done.
Oh sweety, that does sound super stressful! I wish I could just fly over there and help you out! Just remember, you don't have to get it all done this weekend. Don't set yourself up for getting sick again!
Oh man…that is aweful!!
I'm sorry that this process has been a pain!
