i was going over my what i want to do list for 2013.
some things i accomplished.
some things – not so much.
let’s review the list shall we:
i went through the list and crossed out the things i accomplished, or at least touched on.
there were – obviously – a lot of things i HAVEN’T done, and i’m ok with that.
i feel like 2013 was a year where i really took interest in life – and pursued some things that i never thought i would.
+ got real with some frankly friday posts; this one is one of my favorites. (did a certain one speak to you?)
+ i went overseas to ireland and scotland (see entries here).
^i still can’t believe i DID this. with my anxiety struggles and fears, God was good and comforted my heart while i jumped plane to plane and made incredible memories.
+ i played a little game of truths & lie.
+ i turned 25 and shared some lessons learned.
+ i moved more – a lot more. i lost 35lbs this year! i started doing some things on my own, and then bumped up my accountability with my trainer. it’s been hard, and i still have a lot more to accomplish but can i just say how dang excited i am to fit into jeans i haven’t touched in 4 years?!?!
+ y’all – i got to see Ed Sheeran perform this year. absolutely amazing!!!
+ my kitchen floors were ripped up & replaced.
+ i totally fooled some people with this little prank. 😉
+ i shared some thoughts on blogging.
+ as well as some blogger confessions.
+ the united states was rocked – again.
+ the awkward years link up – i’m still cringing.
+ used that 50mm (and stock) lens and took some pictures!
+ the annual halloween party happened.
+ shared some fiction – which y’all have responded to in a way that is so humbling and encouraging!
+ the etsy crushes link up was born.
+ speaking of etsy – megan & i hosted our first etsy swap this past fall (and we’re doing another around the start of 2014!!)
+ got deep with two really personal moments in my life.
+ went on a really awkward date. – story of my life.
+ tobi got sick a lot this year. poor buddy – but I can’t be taking you to the vet for every little thing anymore. momma is BROKE.
so there is a small list of some of the things that have gone down in 2013 for me. 2013 was definitely full of some struggles and drama, but God has been incredibly gracious and faithful. I’ve learned a lot about myself, my relationship with the Lord, friendships, adventure, and joy.
i’m looking forward to what 2014 will bring – what about you?
Omg, Capture the Flag!! Now there's a blast from the past! I freakin loooooved that game! We always played it at our church youth group in jr high and high school, and frankly, I don't even think I've heard those words uttered in years! Ahh I love it!! And 35 lbs girl?! You rock!! Congratulations, that's a huge accomplisment and you should be proud!! I love how you did your year in review; I've been trying to figure out how to format mine so that it's not exactly like everyone else's and I like how you did yours here! It's different and thorough! =)
With just 2 days left of this year, a new one is definitely RIGHT IN MY FACE. I'm excited, I guess, but somehow, a little nervous. I figured some of it out on a drive the other day…I'm going to be blogging about it, I think. 🙂
uuuum…this sounds like a pretty epic year to me! 🙂 p.s. you should have a giant capture the flag game on new years eve! and then play hopscotch. BOOM. crossin' two more things off the list. 🙂
35 lbs!? Girl that is amazing! What a wonderful year it has been!
It sounds like a great year!! I remember awkward dates(: I still laugh about them!! Here's to a year filled with fun and blessings! Susan
love this, girl! i wrote a 2013 review for today too and was thinking about all the friends i've made in blog land. i met you and kiki last january when i started getting involved in the blogging community. we've been friends for a year! how cray cray is that?
i'm glad you're not letting the list of things you didn't check off affect you because it shouldn't. you lived life this year and did so many other things! i look back on this year and see all the things i failed to accomplish, but once i think about it, i also see all the things i did do. this year was really hard but it was so good, too. i'm just so thankful friends and Jesus. my heart is full.
I love making goals and dream lists but I never make the new years resolutions because I want the Lord to have freedom to change my plans 😉 so I am proud of you for letting the Lord guide your list and you are not sad about not crossing everything off! maybe some of those will get crossed off in 2014!
Sounds like you had a wonderful 2013! Congrats on losing 35 lbs., that's great. I also loved reading your April Fool's prank. Too good!
Best wishes to you in 2014 🙂
Caitlin
I love you attitude towards the things you didn't cross off. As a list-lover and a girl with perfectionist tendencies (still overcoming that one!), it's so easy for me to look back on the past and be disappointed. I think this year is finally the year that I haven't felt that way and I honestly think it has to do with blogging and all that it's taught me.
Anyway, hooray for all that you did accomplish this year (which was A LOT, by the way!) and hooray for a new year–so excited to see what adventures we'll be blogging about 365 days from now! 🙂
Also I forgot to add the fact that we should do a color run together–that's something I've always wanted to do!
Sounds like an awesome year, even if you didn't accomplish everything on your list {who does?} – that just leaves more to do this year! Wishing you the best in 2014!
You did an incredible job using that 50mm lens this year! 🙂
