this will be a two part series.
mainly because i think reading 30 facts about someone, let alone me, would be a little overwhelming; and secondly…this has been sitting in my draft box for quite some time as i’ve added random facts.
…annnddd i’m trying my best to not re-use any of the 15 facts i shared a while ago.
welcome to the jungle, minefield, alternate universe.
write 30 interesting things about yourself…
define interesting.
+ i always lift my feet up over railroad tracks while driving (or in the passenger seat).
+ i eat one avocado a day (ok well most days).
+ if i ever feel like i’m getting sick (throw-up sick) i ALWAYS clean my entire bathroom. i wipe everything down, clean the toilet, vaccum the rugs, and make things look pristine. i can not stand to be sick in a dirty bathroom.
+ so – i own a punching bag (100lbs baby!) and i LOVE it! i wrap my wrists and use gloves – but i also love hitting that sucker bare knuckled. there is something about really feeling it hit your skin. i have yet to split my knuckles open (not that i want to) – but they are definitely a little caloused. who needs dainty girl hands? i want to hit things!
+ i once was in a music video – yup you read that correctly. i was in NEEDTOBREATHE’s “hurricane video”. now when you youtube the song, you’re not going to find it – why? because they cut it. yup, we spent all day on Folly Beach going through scenes, seeing the guys, watching them make the video (the producer for the video also produced that lame song “i’m on a boat”) all in the end to find out that the guys didn’t like the final product so they scratched it. So while i WAS in a music video – it will never bee seen, i’m not too upset. 😉
+ i actually have pretty thin hair. you wouldn’t know it from my lions main of curls (jealous?! ha) but my hair is not thick at all.
+ speaking of hair – my hair is also not crunchy. NOPE – no crunch here. some girls i know soak their curls in gel and then are left with that not so subtle crunch when touching their hair. mine is soft (unless i use too much product then i have to break it up) and i sometimes just have to embrace the dang frizz (i do live in the south afterall)
+ i love, love, warm biscuits with honey. maybe it’s a southern thing – but my ‘lanta i could eat them for days.
+ i call all soda “cokes” (probably another southern thing). “Amy, what would you like to drink?” “a coke.” “what kind?” “oh sprite.” yeah i’m weird.
+ speaking of soda – i don’t drink soda – EVER. i’ve had maybe 10 since the start of high school. i just don’t like them anymore.
+ i had to go to speech therapy in elementary school for my ‘r’ and ‘w’ words. i would pronounce rooster as “woooooster” it was interesting.
+ with that speech therapy – to this day if i’m tired or talking too fast i will trip over certain words with the ‘r’ & ‘w’ sounds. it is pretty comical.
+ i once had a friend pierce my ear (cartiladge) with a safety pin. my mother was not happy and forced me to take the piercing out.
+ there is the possibility of a video floating around in cyberspace of me dancing to soulja boy’s “superman” song…yup i have my hat on sideways and everything.
+ when i finally broke down and went to the eye doctor he was shocked i hadn’t been wearing glasses for years, apparently i have a pretty intense astigmatism in each eye. (i got glasses about 3 years ago) he asked if i ever had headaches, blurred vision, or tense muscles in my neck – when i replied “well yeah, i thought that was just normal” he laughed and told me i needed to “listen to my body” more. HAHAHA.
i don't drink soda either!!! in fact, if i do have one now it burns my throat cause i'm not used to it! i'm a coffee & water gal!
i know what you mean about embracing the frizz too!!! lol gotta love SC's humidity
that's funny that you pierced your ear with a safety pin!! i pierced mine myself with a thumbtack during high school! they are actually still pierced 🙂 although one isn't a super straight hole – i have to position the earring down a little bit to get it through lol
this was fun! i love reading random facts about people!!
This was fun to read!!!
That is cool about needtobreath's music video – even if it did get cut! I've always thought it would be fun to do something like that. 🙂
Why do you lift your feet up over railroad tracks? I think my Grandma did that too…
I used to call all soda coke too, until it got me in trouble too many times after moving out here. You see, I don't actually like coca cola so I was seriously disappointed when that would be delivered because they didn't ask what kind.
Haha these were so fun! I almost never drink soda as well, and when I am tempted to have a sip it's always disappointing cause it's just not good anymore (what changed?!)
Biscuits and honey… ohmygosh YES. Hot toast with honey is amazing as well. mmm.
I get made fun of all the time about the "Coke" thing. Even The Hubs makes fun of how I use a brand for generalized things… like "Febreeze" or "Chapstick" or even grocery stores like "I'm going to Bilo" when I'm really not… I'm going somewhere else. Maybe it's a southern thing too.
You were in a music video!! How cool! Who cares if it never made the final cut – still cool! 🙂
Warm biscuits + honey = WIN!
Piercing with a safety pin? OUCH! Lol.
And I will take a warm biscuit any day of the week…with or without honey. So good.
I'm pretty sure if I wrote 30 interesting facts about myself, no one would make it to the end. But yours, my friend, made and laugh and giggle. My hair is pretty thin, too! It's getting bad, too. Sometimes it looks like I have bald spots! Eek!
I LOVE these kinds of blog posts. I always seem to learn new things and it always makes me smile to find things that we have in common (ahem–BISCUITS!!!).
And that is so cool that you were in a music video! Even though it's not view-able, it must have been a really fun experience! 🙂
hahaha i loved all of this. espesh the southernisms. we call all carbonated drinks "coke", and warm, homemade biscuits..yes please!
i thought the whole "what kind of coke do you want" issue was only a texas thing! 🙂 love it! 🙂
I call all sodas "coke" too. I remember the first time I ordered without my mom. I asked for a coke and waited for them to ask "what kind?" But instead they gave me a coca cola!
"Coke" is a southern thing for sure. I call all sodas coke, though I never drink them either. And I started using only mousse to get the crunch out of my curly hair – I hate the crunch!
I would never guess that your hair is thin. Crazy! My hair has been looking thinner and thinner…until it frizzes up. Then you really get to see how thick it secretly is.
I've heard about this southern Coke thing. It cracks me up. But apparently soda is weird to some people and pop is crazy to others.
That is so cool abou the NEEDTOBREATHE video!! Bummer it got cut though 🙁 . Also, how the heck do you store avocados? I use slices of avocado for a lunch wrap but I feel like as soon as I slice one, what didn't get used is brown an bad the next day 🙁
You went to speech therapy for that too?? I did as well!! And for the same reason! My mom's maiden name is Byrd, so just imagine how much fun my family had with that. 😉
Also, I still pronounce words funny when I'm tired or talking fast. My friends love to watch it happen. Jerks. ha!
Loved this post! 🙂
