Yu-YEAH Frankly Friday!
What is Frankly Friday?
Let’s define Frankly shall we…
frankly |Λfra ng klΔ|adverbin an open, honest, and direct manner
. . .
I want this to be a way for all of us to be open, raw, and transparent with not only each other…but with ourselves. I think we put a lot of stock into the “fear” of what others may think of us…into the “fear” of really putting what’s on your heart out there in case someone decides to tear you down.
I’m over the fear & you should be too.
So let’s write…whether it’s about a situation you’re struggling through, a victory you’ve made, a memory that you can’t let go of…anything as long as it’s honest.
. . .
I’ve found myself struggling this week with figuring out a topic to write about.
Have you ever had those moments where you go to actually make a coherent sentence and you find your mouth moving and your words saying meow–moo–meow–moo–blurg–parsh.
Welcome to my current mind-set.
I feel like i’m wading through mush.
. . .
here.
I suppose since my birthday is coming up this weekend I’ve been reflecting.
I’m not old, by any means, but i’ve lived a lot of life.
Life comes each day, it has you jumping through hoops–it has you leaping for joy–singing at the top of your lungs–spilling out tears–grasping at straws–gasping for air–and encouraging you each step you take.
Life will never ever be a cake-walk, but it is always extremely important to enjoy the cake.
here.
Being joyful–experiencing joy.
Is a choice.
I can choose to let the dreary days of my past weigh me down into a locked box, or i can choose to break free and know that while some days trouble will be present–i can still choose to breathe.
I guess…
i’m writing today’s post as an encouragement.
Whatever in your life is weighing you down; you. are. NOT. alone.
Hear me: you’re never alone.
Whatever struggle is drowning you, causing your lungs to burn without the much needed air; if you feel tangled in the brush in the middle of the woods without direction; if your heart is broken and it feels like there is no way out of the hole you’ve fallen into, maybe even willingly.
There is hope.
There is joy.
Some days are going to be worse than others. Devastating news can be at your doorstep at any moment; but let me share with you a secret:
It’s all in your reaction.
If you choose to let the situation break you—then you will remain broken for a while.
If you choose to let it cut you—then there is room for healing.
Pain is pain, and we all experience it; but how long we live in the pain is up to us.
Let today be a day where you start over.
Let go of the bitterness.
the anger.
the resentment.
the “why me?”
the “why not me?”
the what if…
the how come?
the unknown.
the fear.
the confusion.
the frustration.
Let it all go and finally breathe.
Your life is worth living in a way that exemplifies joy.
Be joyful.
Make that choice.
