Can I admit something to y’all?
Santa still brings a few presents to our house. Yup, I’m 30 and Santa still is awesome enough to give me a little visit little ol’ me!! With another cross-country move coming up I’ve been getting a head start on Christmas gift lists and shopping so I don’t feel completely overwhelmed (which is why there is a Christmas post in November!). This season can come with a lot of stress (and sometimes sorrow) and I want to make sure that I’m taking as much stress out of the season by planning ahead and getting some gift purchasing out of the way early on.

When my brother & I hit a certain age Santa started putting Subway gift cards into our stockings and it was one of THE things we always looked forward to. Being broke high school / college kids we were always thankful for that little extra money when it came down to the crunch and still wanting to have a little something extra. When I made my Walmart run the other day I saw that they had all of their gift cards up front and grabbed a few for some quick gifts and stocking stuffers. I immediately thought of my brother and grabbed one of the Subway gift cards to go with his present; Orlando, I hope you’re not reading this, and if you are….well, pretend you didn’t! 😉

There were so many gift card options at Walmart: Spa Week, Fandango, American Express®, Vanilla® Mastercard, Hotels.com®, Etc. With all of those options I really can find a gift for everyone on my list. Some of you may be thinking a gift card doesn’t seem like the best gift, but trust me, they are. I personally LOVE receiving them as I am able to buy the items I really want/need vs some of the things that end up getting donated, not used, or even re-gifted (we all have done it!).

Do you and your siblings carry on any traditions from childhood during the Christmas season?
Also, if you could choose to get a gift card from anywhere, where would it be?!?
