our travel day from ireland to scotland was a long one – we woke up at 7am and got on the road to kerry airport. we had some layovers and delays but we finally arrived in edinburgh around 4pm.
mags, the lady we were renting a room from, actually came to pick us up from a local bus stop and took us to her home (which was fantastic!). the room was so comfortable and had everything we needed (a tea pot, teas, coffee, bathroom essentials if needed, etc).
after getting settled in we took a nice walk into the city center (about a 40 minute walk) and grabbed some dinner (burger and fries and a rekorderlig for me and fish & chips for lando). that night we watched some tv, drank tea, and got some much-needed sleep.
we got a nice late start to our morning (9am) and started our hour walk into the city.
we walked the royal mile and grabbed lunch at a place i went to the last time i was in edinburgh.
after lunch we went to the castle (about 17 pounds each) for about two hours. it was great to experience the castle again with my brother and take in all of the history.
we walked around town and grabbed some coffee and did some sight seeing, and when i say we did a lot of walking -we did a lot of walking. we walked through stores, parks, alleys and churches – we really saw a good chunk of downtown edinburgh.
