he was just building a rock tower.
on a mountain, in ireland, in the midst of a great adventure.
but as i watched my brothers tough hands work and balance and move rocks…something struck a chord.
what about the rock towers that i build?
the towers to false Gods?
or the walls to keep people away from me.
or the towers of pride, greed, lust, gluttony, selfishness….sin towers.
…and what does God think of those?
i kept watching my brothers hands…shifting, moving, pausing….trying to reposition the rocks to balance
and stay firm in the harsh wind.
isn’t that what God is doing in our lives all of the time?
attempting to build us firm to last through harsh winds?
trying to give us balance, guidance, strength, and a sturdy foundation?
letting His hands move for a moment to let us work it out on our own…
…and being there to catch us when we start to falter.
or completely come undone.
and He rebuilds us; re-positions us to face another gust of wind.
to face the sunshine and notice the good, to prepare us for the bad.
yet He is right there, always.
hands at the ready to catch, move, and offer support.
always there.
always constant
in what areas do you see walls in your life?
and how can you begin to tear them down, it’s time friend, it’s time.
