Hall Bath Pt 4

So I realized i haven’t updated on the hall bath in a while; and by a while i mean since March!
Since that post i still had/have a few things on the list to complete.
Hall Bath List:
Paint walls.
Touch up base boards.
Buy new shower curtain.
Paint Vanity.
Frame out mirror.
Build shelves over toilet {4?}
Find cute towel hook.
Change knobs on vanity.
New rug.
New door to bathroom.
Re-paint ceiling white.
+ add pictures/gallery wall.
So i’ve only completed one (in blue) since March…yeah yeah i’m a slow worker.
Just to help jog your memory here is what the bathroom looked like since you last saw it:

So it was time to build some shelves.
Honestly, i didn’t document this process very well…yes i’m a horrible blogger.
Really, i just went to Lowes {where my aunt is hoping i’ll pick up a fella} grabed some boards (untreated) and had them cut down to about 6×12.
I then grabbed some ‘L’ Brackets and screws (oh the screws!).
I got home, sanded them, stained them (with this stain), let them dry for a few days and then with the help of my awesome friend Donna hung the shelves. Well partly hung them.
You see, the screws gave us some trouble.
A few were too small, we didn’t have enough of the right size, some were too long, blah blah blah.
That’s what i get for buying a pack of random screws.
Live & learn right?
We screwed in most of the shelves and i went back the next day to get more so i could secure them.
Now i wouldn’t put an elephant on these things, but they seem pretty dang sturdy for my first try!

I snapped these pictures this morning with my iphone, because well i couldn’t find my real camera, and was running out the door …aka impatient.

Here is the bathroom today:

We still need to get a basket to go one one of the shelves to hold Maria’s stuff {make-up remover, lotion, etc} but that isn’t top priority.
Also the “decorating” of the shelves, yeah don’t judge me on that one. I just threw things up there for the time being and since i don’t use that bathroom i forget to change some things.

Overall i’m pretty dang pleased with it so far. I’ve still got a list of things to do before it is “completed” but that’s life right? I mean, it looks a heck of a lot better than what i started with!

Nice! I love changing things up like that. It looks good 🙂

P.S. my sis works at Lowes here in Cali and she continually tells me I do NOT want to marry any of those guys… not sure if it's only our Lowes but beware. There's something about Lowes guys. hahaha!

Love the shelves! They help it feel more open in there but give you organizational space 🙂 As well as fun, different ways to decorate.
