orlando,

you turn twenty-two today.
i literally can not believe it – and you’re a senior in college…gah just stop growing up!
i still remember you trying to break into my diary and being my shadow.
what happened to you thinking i was so cool? 😉
seriously dude, i’m still pretty cool!

i honestly can’t say all that i want to in one little post.
you mean so much to me.
we’ve gone through some tough times and it’s made us grow closer.
you are literally the only person in this world who understands certain pains that we share.
i am so thankful i have you.
i can’t tell you enough how thankful i am that you’re my brother.

mom and dad would be so proud of you.
every single day they would be proud.
of all of your accomplishments, of you working with autistic children, pursuing psychology, being goofy and hilarious, spreading compassion to others, being a light in a dark world.
so. proud.
i see so much of them in you.
so much of dad’s patience and thoughtfulness, so much of mom’s spunk and outgoing personality.
i truly believe you got the best parts of them.
i’m a little jealous 😉

i sometimes wish i could rewind and freeze time.
back to dinners with you, me, mom, & dad at the table.
back to wrestling matches where i won.
back to the night before you moved to college.
back to the swim meets and youth trips.
…but then i stop and think of all of the good times behind us and i can’t help but be excited for the good times ahead. dude we’re going to make some incredible memories.

you. are. a. stud.
and hilarious.
and smart.
and athletic.
and a son of God.
and spunky.
and weird.
and helpful.
dude you are so many incredible things.

i can’t wait to see the man you will be in a year, five years, ten years, thirty years.
you are just going to continue to rock and show others the love of Jesus.
i just want to brag on you to everyone.
i want the world to know how much i love you, how much i appreciate and am thankful for you.
how much i miss you being away at college.
how much love and light you bring to the world.
orlando – i love you kid. every day and through every joy and trial.
me & you kid, me & you always! <3
