after our walk through the forest and driving down endless country roads we found ourselves sitting in a parking lot by a lake in ardgroom.
it was a windy but beautiful day to walk a few miles and climb some random side rocks; well, the broseph did – i attempted to and then started sinking down and smacking my camera against a rock, so i backpedaled quickly.
lando and i had some really good conversations about nothing in particular but it was some awesome bonding time between the two of us – the whole point of the trip.
we skipped rocks on the lake, saw countless sheep/goats, and found ourselves standing at the end of the road staring at someone’s home. awwwkkwardddd
so we did an abound face and took a moment to really soak in how stunning of a location we happened to be in by accident.
the mountains surrounding the lake, reaching towards the sky, dotted with random sheep who were daring enough to climb.
when we got back we saw that a lot of the locals actually walked this path (and a few others surrounding), and took their dogs out to chase balls into the water. if i lived there i would walk there all the time.
after the lake we did more driving around country roads putting the car in neutral and gliding down mountains – so much fun!
we found ourselves back in ardgroom settling into the post office.
it isn’t just a post office though, it has a nice selection of grocery materials, wine, gifts, and a sweet little cafe where we grabbed some food.
lando and i both got a sundried tomato wrap that tasted a lot like piza (yum!) and a small side salad.
i was sipping on some dandelion tea (yay detox!) and lando got a smooth and we each chomped on 2 LARGE cookies! (we spent around 23 euro)
and because i feel you should get the true experience, here is a little snip from us walking around, completely unedited because, hey – it’s real life! 😉
